Things to Remember When Remodeling Your Bathroom

By: scott wilson 4b

There are so many things to keep in mind when you are remodeling your bathroom. Sadly though, there are so many people who spend so much time on color, materials, and the latest styles, that they forget some of the most important things for a bathroom remodel. Sure, color, sink style, and countertop materials are all important, but remodeling your bathroom is a lot more than just new fixtures and colors. Function is very important as well! So, when you are remodeling your bathroom, here are a few things that you will definitely need to remember.

You Can Relocate Your Bathroom Fixtures
There are many people who don't move bathroom fixtures because they think it would be too hard or too expensive, but this is not the case. It is feasible to move your bathroom fixtures, especially if you will give you more room or improve the entire layout of the bathroom. It usually is not very expensive to do this, and if it provides you with more room in your bathroom, then it is a good investment. So, don't fear relocating the fixtures, since there are many advantages you can enjoy.

Don't Buy Hard to Clean Fixtures
The last thing you need in your bathroom is fixtures that are hard to clean, so even if they look great and they're the real fashion, avoid them like the plague. No one wants to end up spending hours trying to clean their bathroom, so make sure that your fixtures are going to be easy to clean. When you're picking out the fixtures for your bathroom when remodeling, make sure that you pick out the fixtures that will make it very easy for you to clean the bathroom when you need to.

Convenient Towel Bars
Towel bars are a convenience that you'll definitely want in your remodeled bathroom. Be sure to add some right near the tub or the shower so it is easy to get the towels off them when you are in the shower or bath. Also, putting up a smaller towel bar near the sink is a great idea. This will provide a place for hand towels to go. If you do not have a lot of room in your bathroom, then consider going with towel rings instead of the bars.

Shower Storage
You know what a pain it is to have a bottle of shampoo fall off the tub ledge, hitting your big toe. So, why not add some shower storage to your shower so you can easily store our soap and shampoo in a great place. Even adding a hook or bar for washcloths is an excellent idea that is convenient. This makes it much easier then storing everything on the tub ledge.
